Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 13 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the OpSecX website and services operated by OpenSecurity India ("OpSecX", "we", "us", or "our") from Bangalore, India. By browsing our site, creating an account, or purchasing a course, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your account information accurate.
  • Sign-in is passwordless: we use email verification codes and, optionally, WebAuthn passkeys. You are responsible for securing access to your email and registered passkeys.
  • Accounts are personal. Do not share login credentials or allow others to use your account.
  • We may suspend or disable accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the platform, or create security or fraud risk.

2. Purchases and payment

  • Course prices are shown at checkout. Applicable payment methods include PayPal (USD) and PayU (INR), depending on availability.
  • When you complete checkout, you authorize the selected payment provider to charge the displayed total. Payment processing is handled by that provider; we receive confirmation and order metadata.
  • Access to purchased courses is granted after successful payment. Order details and billing information are recorded for fulfillment, support, and legal requirements.
  • By checking the acceptance box at checkout, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms for that purchase.

3. Course access and license

  • Purchased courses grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access course materials through OpSecX for your own learning.
  • Unless we expressly permit otherwise, you may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly perform, sublicense, or share course videos, downloads, or other materials outside the platform.
  • You may not attempt to circumvent access controls, scrape content at scale, or reverse engineer the OpSecX platform or its protections.
  • Course content, branding, and materials remain the intellectual property of OpSecX or its licensors.

4. Refund policy

General rule. Digital course purchases are generally non-refundable once course access has been granted and you have started using the course.

For this policy, you have started using a course if any of the following apply:

  • Any lesson video in that course has been played through your account, or
  • Lesson completion progress has been recorded for that course, or
  • A certificate has been issued for that course.

Accidental purchases. If you contact us within 4 hours of purchase, have not started using the course as defined above, and believe the purchase was made in error, we may approve a full refund at our discretion.

To request a refund, email cs@opsecx.com with your order details and a brief explanation. Approved refunds are processed through the original payment method where possible and may take several business days depending on PayPal, PayU, or your bank.

We may decline refund requests that appear fraudulent, abusive, or inconsistent with these Terms.

5. Access duration

When you purchase a course, we intend to provide ongoing access for as long as OpSecX continues to offer that course and your account remains in good standing. This is what we mean by continued access to purchased courses — not a guarantee that any particular course, feature, or format will remain unchanged forever.

  • We may update, improve, reorganize, or replace course content over time.
  • If we retire a course, we will try to give reasonable advance notice where practicable and may offer a comparable alternative when appropriate.
  • If OpSecX discontinues operations or a material part of the service, we will try to provide reasonable notice and work in good faith to preserve access to content you have already purchased, subject to technical and legal constraints. We do not guarantee bulk downloads of all course materials.

6. Certificates

Certificates may be issued when you meet course completion requirements. Public verification of a certificate is optional and controlled by the certificate holder. OpSecX does not guarantee that any certificate will be recognized by an employer or third party.

7. Messaging and acceptable use

Course messaging is for learning-related communication with instructors. You must not use OpSecX to send unlawful, harassing, abusive, or spam content. We may remove messages or restrict access when necessary to protect users and the platform.

8. Disclaimers

OpSecX provides professional security education. Course materials are for learning purposes. We do not guarantee specific employment, certification, or real-world outcomes. The platform and content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenSecurity India and OpSecX will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the services. Our total liability for any claim relating to a course purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for that purchase, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Third-party links and services

Our site may link to third-party websites or use third-party payment and infrastructure providers. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services outside our control.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of OpSecX after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law. Material changes to terms applicable at checkout will apply to new purchases after the update is posted.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Bangalore, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your jurisdiction.
